SMTP and deliverability
Before you launch campaigns, check how your email is sent under Settings → Email & messaging.
Before you launch campaigns, check how your email is sent under Settings → Email & messaging.
Sending methods
- Phishtime managed mail. On the Hello World (free) plan, campaigns go out from a shared Phishtime sending domain. The sender address in a template is cosmetic; the real From address is fixed.
- Custom SMTP profile. On paid plans. Add your own SMTP host, port, and From address under Settings → Email & messaging, then pick it in a campaign's email content step.
Recommended controls
- Use a sender domain your organization owns or is authorized to use, and verify it under Settings → Domains & network → Verified domains.
- Set up SPF, DKIM, and DMARC on that domain following your mail provider's instructions. See the Deliverability & DNS section on the Email & messaging page (click Show guide).
- Send a test message from the SMTP profile before a real campaign, to check that it arrives, renders correctly, and is not filtered as spam.
If deliverability is poor, first check that the campaign is not sending from an unverified domain, then check SPF, DKIM, and DMARC alignment, before you blame the template content.
